Approved Blueprints 1 Year, 1 Month ago
HI all I'm new here due to the fact that I'm planning on adding an additional room and bathroom to my home. I just had a contractor from a local building company talk to me about the steps and heads up on going through this process. I was told of an $8600 charge to the Los Angeles county builiding and permit dept. is to be issued once blueprints have been approved. I'm wondering is this correct? I live in a residential community R2 zoning. Adding 1 bedroom extending a current room and adding a full bath to the new addition. I appreciate all input , and if theres any licensed contractors in the LA area please pm me. I am very serious about the addition since my family is growing. Thank You.

Dear E60M5;

I'm not from your area, but I was shocked that the permits for your project would cost that much. Permit costs in our area are _base_d on total cost of the project. You did not mention the cost of your project?

I would post another message on costs of permits in your area, I would be interested.
