What Construction Customers Want

What Construction Customers Want

by request: inside jokeThis week’s QuickTips issue focused on a spate of recent construction industry surveys showing that while yes, customers are tightening budgets and fixing up instead of buying up, there is still a very robust demand for skilled craftsmen.

Trouble is, some contractors don’t know how to connect with and tap into that demand, and as a result may be finding it difficult to drum up jobs and are becoming discouraged.

Thinking about how the construction customer’s perceptions and focus has changed, what their primary needs and wants are, and how to address their most pressing concerns, is what keeps the money coming in.

Review your own marketing and sales patterns. How do they address the current customer concerns?

This is what worries them, in this order: risk, quality, price, communication, time and guarantees.

Are you doing enough to make sure you connect with your customer on each area? Are you providing the trust factors and reassurances they crave? How can you do better?
