Hi Diane;
I use Quickbooks Pro and I find it very powerfull. I will handle all your needs and job tracking is great for future bids. I have tried most accounting programs out there and they are all trying to be QB'S.
There is a learning curve but the manual is very clear, and believe me, I'm no accountant. You can call up a report on anything, job spent on a project, material costs, estimating, invoicing, payroll,a/r, a/p, taxes, statements and it even has a auto fill feature, if you type it once it remembers the keystrokes.
I don't work for the company!!

Hi Diane, Our members have had great results using CD Estimator and QuickBooks Pro together. CD Estimator handles all your estimating and job cost crunching, and the data imports easily right into QuickBooks, where it can then be seamlessly tied right into specific jobs. QBpro will handle all your small business operations, including payroll, tracking, and a/p a/r. Hope that helps! ChrisR

Estimating Software 7 Years, 5 Months ago
|
|
I'm glad to hear that someone has had a good experience with the CD Estimator from Craftsman. I am starting a handyman business and need something to help with estimates, mainly to get me in the ball park. I purchased the whole package of CD Estimator software, and I have found it very cumbersome to pull together an estimate for just about anything. If I were to use the price I came up with, I would lose my shirt! Any suggestions would be appreciated. GI

I have used CD Estimator for 5 years or so, I find it works well although one must use his/her own track record to make pricing realistic. Don't forget to add your overhead/profit to estimate. Also CD Estimator is not detailed enough in some areas. You really need to keep daily time sheets so you know how much time you spend on particular jobs and charge accordingly.

If anyone can help, I need form samples to help track, limit, and schedule production for remodeling and insurance repair.
